Equine Cardiovascular Performance System

Introducing Equine CardioX the equine performance system that goes way beyond heart rate.

CvCu has developed a state of the art equine performance analyser that can be used within a variety of equine applications:

A competing Horse is an athlete and like other athletes monitoring of the cardiovascular system can lead to significant improvements in performance, endurance and health. Its the closest thing to getting the information straight from the horses mouth because this technology can help you discover hidden, critical information about your horse. If humans can benefit from it, then so can your Horse!

The CvCu Equine
CardioX system measures your horses heart performance and efficiency and should be used on a regular basis as a part of their every-day training programs.

The Equine CardioX system complements the standard heart rate training methods used today.

How Does It Work?

The ECardioX assessment records the blood pressure pulse waveform at the facial artery.

This recording is used as a proxy for the blood pressure pulse waveform at the heart.

From this data, the ECardioX assessment calculates:

It then compares these calculated parameters against reference data to assess cardiovascular capability .

Results from this simple, state of the art test are immediate and can be performed as part of a normal training programme or prior to making that all important yearling purchase.

What Does It Do ?

The ECardioX assessment identifies the key cardiovascular performance indicators in a simple, totally non-invasive way. This heart function data is otherwise only available from an invasive catheter placed in the heart. The ability to assess and manage the thoroughbreds cardiovascular status and performance effectively has significant benefits for owners, trainers, breeders and buyers.

The Key Heart Function & Performance Parameters

The ECardioX Relative Performance Score

The EcardioX Relative Performance Score looks at the deviation from the reference data for each of the key heart function parameters and combines them into a single number that is then compared to the table below. The EcardioX Relative Performance Score helps identify and quantify the horse’s cardiovascular status. It is important to know the cardiovascular status so you can determine whether the horse is responding to a particular training regime or when comparing yearlings to purchase. Why gamble…remove some of the risk involved when purchasing that yearling for many thousands and sometimes millions of dollars.
